Script Subop Request

I remember vaguely requesting this subop back in the beta days.. But if I can recall correctly, the request was deferred so as to make room to fully utilize the default Subops.

I suppose enough time has already passed to warrant building a Script Subop now. I can see a couple of advantages in this, in particular, this could be one of the best ways to brainstorm uncharted functionalities box3 hasn't tapped into yet.

Stuff like:

  • Emitting particles over existing shapes.
  • Spline Support
  • Full access to polygon functions
  • (as of max2014) Python for Pflow
  • Being a bridge to other plugins

I also hope that the Script Subop would allow runtime generation of Meshes/Shapes (would be great to be able to do dynamic voronoi fracturing using this). Same goes for generating splines.

Opening this can of worms might just be worthwhile now.

Just my 2 centavos Smile

I just read on physx news that the new apex sdk supports some sort of dynamic fracturing...Getting box2/massfx to support the latest physx 3.3 sdk might be the future for box 2 dynamics Smile

+1 for a script subop
