Hey guys,
at the moment I try to understand in what order the position and speed gets calculated. So I have an "Position-Icon" in my flow and a simple speed.

What I think the particles do:
When the particle spawns at the time 0 it should be placed in the volume of the icon (it's at the coords 0,0,0). It should also get the speed 50, but shouldn't move this frame.
So in frame 1 it moves up by the amount of speed it had in frame 0 (speed = 50). Speed 50 seems to be 1.667 units., so the position is (x=0, y=0, z=1.667). Since the speed doesn't change this continues (Frame 2 - Position 0,0,3.33; Frame 3 - Position 0,0,5; Frame 4 - Position 0,0,6.66; Frame 5 - Position 0,0,8.33; Frame 6 - Position 0,0,10).

What the particle actually does:
Now I looked at the data from the particle with a DataOp InputPosition -> OutputPosition (on "Post" to see the final state of this frame).
At frame 0 the particle is already at the positon 0,0,1.667. In frame 1 it's still at the same position... (<- Why?) and then it continues as I think it should (1.66 units are added each frame to the z-Coord). So from frame 1 on it does, what I predicted...

My question is now: What happens in this frame 0, that the particle is already at 0,0,1.66 and why does it stay there at frame 1?

I'm really confused at the moment and I hope someome can explain this for me Smile

Matthias

Hi,

You may need to view your data using a Display Data OP that points to a Data Output SUBOP set to Global.

Both the Display Data OP and Data Output SUBOP set to Execution Order -> Post.

See attached file.

I hope this helps Smile
